The Garden Takes a Rest

but we are busy planning for all things new. Yesterday, I rearranged garden tables, container plants, etc. It was the perfect weather for it…comfortable, if you keep busy. Much like the garden renews itself, so does Noah. He’s on a faster cycle of course. I’m reminded and amazed how one tiny being can command the attention and devotion of so many.

Mesclun in a container on the deck has not been affected by the frost.

Well the pool is under wraps, but as soon as the rest of the leaves fall, I must tend the gutters. There is always something.

Rushing the Season

Oh, how we love to rush the season. What happened to the tiny, few day old infant? He’ll be leaving home soon. I think I’ll plant some paperwhites.

After dipping leaves from the pool all day, and facing an acre of leaves, I had help to come get the leaf situation back under control. Of course, there will be more, but not overwhelmingly so.

The woods are turning gray but the dogwood drupes sparkle it up a bit. Everything wild loves to eat them.

Zebra grass plumes are pretty against the sky whether it is blue or gray. I love to listen to the grasses rustle in the wind.

I can always count on nandina for more red.

Wednesdays in November, Cheekwood can be visited for canned goods. Today was the perfect day to stroll the grounds.

and stay warm. There is a freeze warning tonight. I am so glad I finally got the pool closed in the nick of time. Now there is a ton of leaves to deal with from all the windy weather of late. Isn’t autumn fun?
