I Think Its going To Rain Today

Posted by mothernaturesgarden on October 31, 2008

Katie Melua/I think It’s Going to Rain Today by daderth

Broken windows and empty hallways
A pale dead moon in the sky streaked with gray
Human kindness is overflowing
And I think it’s going to rain today

Scarecrows dressed in the latest styles
With frozen smiles to chase love away
Human kindness is overflowing
And I think it’s going to rain today

Lonely, lonely
Tin can at my feet
Think I’ll kick it down the street
That’s the way to treat a friend

Bright before me the signs implore me
To help the needy and show them the way
Human kindness is overflowing
And I think it’s going to rain today

Sometimes I get tired of the same old plants. I wasn’t planning on bringing these inside, but this one had because of rain and cooler temps started forming a crown of buds and won my heart again. So I brought them all in.

Colorful Kale

Posted by mothernaturesgarden on October 27, 2008

The cooler it gets the more colorful they become. I have planted ornamental cabbage in past years but the hard frosts took them out. I thought I would give this frilly kale a try this year to see if it is hardier. I’m sure they would have a better chance if they weren’t so recently planted. We will see what happens. It is supposed to freeze tonight.

Bloodshot Eye Pumpkin

Posted by mothernaturesgarden on October 21, 2008

A white pumpkin streaked and veined with color

and turned on its side looks like a bloodshot eye.  Thus, the name Bloodshot Eye Pumpkin.  Every year there is something new and unusual in the Cucurbits it seems. Maybe, I could make a cyclops for Halloween since I only have one.
